否定倒裝(Never have I…)

• 否定副詞 + 助動詞 + 主詞 + 動詞:Never have I felt so proud.
• 沒有現成助動詞就借一個 do/does/did:Rarely does he complain.（他很少抱怨。)

🧩 文法點:為什麼倒裝、怎麼倒裝

① 規則:否定/限制副詞放句首 → 主詞助動詞倒裝(語序變得像問句)。

• 正常:I have never seen such a mess.
• 倒裝:Never have I seen such a mess.（更強調、更正式)

② 哪些字會觸發倒裝(記這幾類):

• 完全否定:Never / Nor / At no time / Under no circumstances(絕不)
  • Under no circumstances should you sign it.（你絕不該簽。)
• 近乎否定:Rarely / Seldom / Hardly / Scarcely / Little（很少/幾乎不）
  • Little did she know what was coming.（她全然不知接下來會怎樣。)
• Not until…（直到…才):倒裝發生在主要子句:
  • Not until he apologised did I feel better.（直到他道歉,我才好受些。)
• No sooner… than / Hardly… when(一…就)下一課細講。

③ 沒有助動詞就借 do/does/did(配時態),動詞回原形:

• He seldom calls. → Seldom does he call.
• They complained little. → Little did they complain.

④ 中文母語者最常犯的三個錯:

• ❌ Never I have seen… → ✅ Never have I seen…(一定要倒裝,不能只是搬字)
• ❌ Rarely he calls. → ✅ Rarely does he call.(要補 does + 原形)
• 別把每個否定句都倒裝——倒裝是為了強調/正式,平常對話用正常語序就好。

🗣️ 發音提醒

• 倒裝句的重音落在句首的否定副詞:NEVER have I…;RARELY does he…——語氣一開口就出來。
• Never have I 連讀成「nɛ-vər-hæ-vaɪ」,別一個字一個字頓。
• Under no circumstances 一長串,節奏放穩:重音在 no 和 cir-cumstances。
